Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Everything you want to know

Real answers to the questions I get asked most. If something is not covered here come ask inside the community.

LE Trading Academy is something I built because I wanted a place where traders could actually learn without all the noise. It started small and grew to 3,000 plus traders who show up every day to learn a real system. We have a free Discord community, live trading sessions, trade recaps, workshops and more. The goal has always been the same. Teach traders a system they can trust and execute on their own.
I am a full time trader with over 7 years of live market experience. I started this academy because I genuinely enjoy teaching and I think most trading education is either too complicated or too dishonest. I show my real trades. The wins and the losses. I built the LE Model because I needed something simple that I could execute consistently under pressure. It worked for me and it has worked for a lot of traders who came through this community.
The LE Model is the trading system I use every single day. It is built around the 8EMA and four key price levels. PDH which is the Previous Day High. PDL which is the Previous Day Low. PMH which is the Premarket High. And PML which is the Premarket Low. That is it. One moving average. Four levels. An Inside and Outside Day framework. I kept it simple on purpose because simple is what you can actually execute when real money is on the line.
Yes. The Discord community is completely free. You get live trading sessions, LE Model workshops, Q&A access, and over 1,000 trade recaps at zero cost. There are premium products for traders who want more but joining the community and learning the system costs nothing. Free means free here.
Go to letradingacademy.com/free-discord and fill out the short form. You will get access immediately. It takes about 30 seconds and you are in.
Yes. I designed the LE Model to be learnable by anyone. If you have never placed a trade before you can start here. If you have been trading for a while and keep losing money you can start here too. The system is simple enough to learn from scratch and structured enough that experienced traders who have been doing it wrong can reset and build something that actually works.
The LE Toolkit is the scanner and indicator setup I use built specifically for the LE Model. It includes the Purple Profits Indicator which plots my 8EMA and key levels directly on your charts with entry and stop loss signals. The LE Scanner filters through the entire market to surface the setups that match my criteria. It is not required to trade the LE Model but if you want to be faster and get over hesitation it is the tool that makes that happen.
Elly's Lab is my small group live coaching program. It runs over three weeks with four live sessions. We cover the WHY behind the setups, entry and exit framework, how to build a watchlist, and a fourth session I do not talk about publicly. People who have been through it know what I mean. Spots are limited to 8 to 10 traders per cohort because I want to be able to actually work with everyone in the room. It fills up fast.
Nothing to join the community and learn. That is free. For actually placing trades in the US market the pattern day trader rule requires $25,000 in a margin account if you want to make more than three day trades per week. However that is no longer required if you open a cash account. You can make unlimited day trades with the balance of your account. I cover all of this inside the Discord and it comes up a lot in live sessions so you will get a real answer pretty quickly once you are inside.
I personally use Webull. It has a simple order entry system including turbo trader which makes execution fast and clean. It works on both mobile and desktop and is easy to get started with. I even have a complete setup guide inside the community that walks you through the whole thing. Once you have a system that works you can trade it almost anywhere but Webull is where I would point most people starting out.
I focus on high volume liquid names that have clean technical structure and respond well to the 8EMA and key levels. Stocks like META, NVDA, SPY, QQQ and AAPL are common in my watchlist. Every Sunday I use the LE Scanner to filter the entire market down to 5 to 7 stocks for the week ahead. You will see exactly which ones I am watching and why during live sessions.
The 8EMA is an 8 period Exponential Moving Average. It acts as dynamic support and resistance on a chart. When a stock is trending price tends to bounce off the 8EMA repeatedly. I use the 8 period specifically because it is more responsive than the 20 or 50 EMA and gives cleaner entries on the timeframes I trade. Understanding WHY the 8EMA works is the foundation of the whole system. It is not just a line on a chart. There is a real reason it holds and once you understand that reason you stop second guessing your entries.
It is simpler than most people think. On TradingView click the indicators tab, search for Moving Average Exponential, select it, and set the length to 8. That is it. One indicator. I show exactly how to set this up inside the Discord with a step by step walkthrough on a real chart. Once it is on your chart you will start seeing how price interacts with it almost immediately and it starts to click pretty quickly.
I use the 10 minute chart as my primary timeframe. Everything I do is built around reading price action on the 10 minute. I find it gives enough detail to time entries without the noise you get on lower timeframes like the 1 or 5 minute. A lot of traders jump between timeframes and it creates confusion. Pick one, learn it deeply, and stick with it. For the LE Model the 10 minute is the one.
The core concepts translate across timeframes but the system is specifically designed and tested around the 10 minute chart. If you are going to learn the LE Model I would strongly recommend starting on the 10 minute before experimenting with anything else. Once you understand how price behaves on the 10 minute you will have a much better foundation for applying the concepts elsewhere if you ever choose to.
Yes. The core concepts of the LE Model translate well to futures. The 8EMA still acts as dynamic support and resistance and the key levels still hold because institutions and algorithms watch them regardless of the instrument. A lot of traders in the community trade futures alongside stocks using the same system. The 10 minute chart works well there too.
Honestly I have not tried it. Forex is a decentralized market which means there is no single exchange setting the price and the key levels like PDH and PDL work differently because every broker shows slightly different data. I built the LE Model around US equities and that is where I have tested and refined it. I would not want to tell you it works on forex when I have not done the work to verify that myself.
PDH is the Previous Day High and PDL is the Previous Day Low. These are the exact price levels where a stock topped out and bottomed out the day before. Institutions and algorithms watch these levels closely which is why they tend to act as support or resistance when price comes back to test them. The LE Model uses PDH and PDL in combination with the 8EMA to identify high probability setups. When everything lines up at one of these levels the trade becomes a lot cleaner.
Most communities give you signals and tell you what to buy. I do not do that. I teach the system so you can make your own calls. I show my real trades, the ones that worked and the ones that did not. I do not want traders who depend on me to tell them what to do. I want traders who understand the system well enough to execute it on their own. That is what LE Trading Academy is built around.
